Reach
There is nothing like being outside under the stars during an evening with clear skies and a new moon at an International Dark Sky park like Joshua Tree. I find comfort and peace in this environment which allows me to slow down and decompress from the busyness of everyday life. It is simply amazing how many stars you can see when the conditions are perfect and there is little light pollution. It took a while to find this gem of a spot in the park but when I saw this lone Joshua Tree, I thought it would make for a great image if I were to capture the Milky Way core directly above it. It looks as though the tree is trying to reach up and touch the Milky Way or there is this perception of phototropism.
